Bass Player UK Magazine 93 July 2013 Edição anterior

You think bass guitar players have all the technique? Think again: as Stray Cat mainstay Lee Rocker proved to a gobsmacked audience at the London Bass Guitar Show back in March, there is ample room on the double bass for warp-speed slapping, lightning-fast runs and fusillades of sixteenths, all within a genre of music that is regarded as primitive by those not in the know. Read and learn as Lee looks back on a unique career. We’ve also interviewed jazz and classical bassist Gregg August for a double whammy of upright goodness, just to make the point that the only instrument as cool as a bass guitar is its taller, vertical older brother.
But versatility and flexibility are what BGM is all about, of course, so cast your eyes over our other interviews with progressive legend Gary Willis, thrash metal demon Joel Graham and the up-and-coming bass-wielders in our Bassically Speaking section. All of bass life is covered in this issue, as usual, although we’re not resting on our laurels, believe me. In our endless quest to make BGM the ultimate resource for bass players (electric or otherwise!), we’re proud to introduce a new regular page from the Musicians’ Union, designed to answer all your questions on life as a pro. Add that to the august Jeff Berlin’s advice column and our four-bassist Front Line series and you’ve got yourself a valuable resource, we reckon. That just leaves us space to let you know that the London Bass Guitar Show 2014 will be held on 1 and 2 March at London’s Olympia venue next year. See you there!

Really interesting

Lots of interesting articles Revisto 25 abril 2022

Bass Player UK

I'm writing from Colombia. I really enjoy the magazine. Thanks guys. Revisto 20 dezembro 2020

Always a good read

Really entertaining view of guitar Revisto 11 julho 2019

Preferred the old reader

Although the new version has a few extra goodies like a side menu with all articles and a nicer layout, the zoom isn't as good as the old reader. With my phone horizontal the maximum zoom still has tiny lettering. It would be no good to someone who is short sighted. Revisto 24 novembro 2012
