Airgun Shooter  |  June 2013
Our lead test rifle in June’s Airgun Shooter is the Gamo CFX Royal. Don’t be fooled by this rifle’s ‘traditional’ looks – as Nigel finds out, it’s got a performance to match the top contenders in modern spring power, and is yet another top offering from the Spanish airgunmaker. At the other end of the air rifle spectrum, Mark Camoccio has a brace of PCPs to put head to head, in a bid to find out whether the Daystate Huntsman or the FX Cyclone offers better bang for your buck. Pistols are also on the agenda, as Phil Bulmer delivers two cracking articles, one testing the Webley Tempest and Typhoon, and the other explaining how you can make your own pistol case.
As usual, this issue is crammed full of top features, too. The editor reports back from an exclusive behind-the-scenes trip to the Dianawerk factory in Germany, where he gets a unique insight into the operation of this airgunning giant. Meanwhile, Neil Hallam takes a look at the role air rifle shooting plays in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme, where an increasing number of youngsters are turning to the sport to help them on the way to achieving their medals. Jeremy Cooke, meanwhile, takes a look at the neglected .25 calibre – and we also round up a host of top camouflage patterns from a list of top international brands.
For all this and more – including our regular hunting columns – check out this issue today.
