Two e-newsletters dropped into my inbox this month, containing some interesting research results, the highlights of which I’d like to share with The Artist readers. Firstly, the International Body of Art (IBA, a contemporary arts company) circulated the results of their recent research revealing, not unsurprisingly, that according to their data, 29-per-cent of British people say that their creative pastimes play a primary role in helping to maintain their mental wellbeing. And within these creative pastimes, drawing and painting, whether a beginner or an experienced artist, are noted as particularly important for enabling them to channel their emotions and experiences, with the act of creating art being experienced as both calming and fulfilling.
