English
207 Beoordelingen   •  English   •   Aviation & Transport (Aviation)
Only €5,99
The October issue FlyPast is a packed, 124-page special featuring the best air-to-air photography, the latest warbird action, and exclusive insights into what it was like to fly on some of the most dangerous and important missions of World War Two and beyond. Our cover star is a rare 'high back' North American P-51B Mustang – this machine has been lovingly restored and is now flown by US collector John Sessions as a tribute to those who gave so much. It's a magnificent aeroplane – John describes its history to Rachel Morris, while ace photographer John Dibbs captures the fighter in its element.

Spotlight: Avro Lancaster
A special 25-page section on the RAF’s legendary World War Two heavy bomber, the Avro Lancaster. FlyPast scrutinizes its history, compares it to its predecessor and successor, and profiles some of the men that flew them. With exclusive colour artwork and numerous archive images.

Handley Page Halifax: special ‘ops’
The story of Max Gaskin’s wartime career aboard special duty Halifax bombers.

Scampton Salute
A visit to Scampton inspired artist John Hunter to pay tribute to the Dambusters

Hammer of the fleet
Capt Eric ‘Winkle’ Brown remembers his time flying the Blackburn Buccaneer

Flying the Liberator
Dave Unwin gets behind the controls of a Consolidated B-24 Liberator in the US

We also bring you breaking news of Duxford's Blenheim being rolled out, and the departure of the Fighter Collection's P-47G Thunderbolt. We also say farewell to Coventry’s last Dakota, but welcome an Australian Messerschmitt 109 project, a Flying Fortress restoration, and the return of an English Electric Lightning to fast taxying condition. Ken Ellis takes on a tour of Essex, uncovering some interesting World War Two heritage, and the amazing courage of VC recipient James Ward is profiled by Air Cdre Graham Pitchfork.

Digital subscription for Flypast magazine

I have purchased the Flypast magazine for many years and generally as a hard copy. However, for the last couple of years l have subscribed annually to the digital version and now read on my iPad.
The magazine is great and I always find the content interesting and varied and never bored with the topics covered. Whilst previously enjoying the hard copy l am now a devoted digital subscriber and would recommend this version. On the downside you miss out on add ons such as calendars etc.
