Norbert Goenuette was a profi lic Victorian French painter and illustrator, and at the tender age of 18 he painted one of his most famous pieces, The Boulevard de Clichy under Snow. It’s a snowy scene painted in oils on canvas and our resident expert Stephanie Guy will guide you through this step by step project, where once completed you will be the owner of a miniature masterpiece. As Stephanie once told me “the only thing that you need to paint in miniature that you wouldn’t necessarily require otherwise is a good pair of glasses or a magnifying glass.”
I’ve yet to attempt one of Stephanie’s projects, however after reading her blogs and looking through back issues, I’m going to challenge myself and add it to my list of new year resolutions (and I’ll make sure that I take a couple of snapshots too!)
Besides that fantastic piece of artwork, there’s
a great selection of projects for you to undertake including a really quick and easy 1/12th bead doll from Kati Kainulainen and a lovely little crochet cat from Mariella Vitale, not to mention features detailing fantastic collections from around the UK and Europe. This month roving reporters have visited the picturesque county of Kent to visit Hever Castle, Nunnington Hall in North Yorkshire and Andalucia in Spain.
