Dolls House and Miniature Scene Magazine February 2016 (Iss 261) Vorige editie

English
196 Beoordelingen   •  English   •   Hobbies & Crafts (Scale Modelling)
We begin this month’s magazine with a fabulous feature review by regular contributor and reader* Ann Sutcliffe. Ann travelled to Ripon in North Yorkshire, to pay a visit to Newby Hall, a grade 1 listed, eighteenth century house and home to a wonderful collection of miniatures curated by Jane Fiddick and Caroline Hamilton.

Amongst the plethora of amazing dolls houses is an area within the museum entitled ‘Special Treasures’ which showcases the magnificent talent of many renowned miniature artisans including Paul Briggs, Jim Whitehouse and Mike Sparrow to name but a few.

The area allows first time visitors the opportunity to appreciate the skill and craftsmanship that is to seen in detail which might otherwise be overlooked, when enjoying a whole series of about 60 houses, some antique but mostly fine modern miniatures and many smaller shops and room boxes.

There’s also a fantastic selection of projects in this months issue to try your hand at including a welcome return to Martin Pearce and part one of his in depth ski chalet, a couple of Valentine themed projects and as always an incredible re-creation in miniature by Sadie Brown. This month Sadie’s tackled the traditional British breakfast with instruction on how to make a fry up.
