With new car registrations taking a battering of late, we have the antidote to all the misery, as we name the Top 50 used car buys in this month’s invaluable guide. Our team of used car experts have whittled down a list of more than 500 used cars, to come up with the ultimate 50 cars that you simply can’t miss when choosing your next used car. What will be taking the top spot at number one? There’s only one way to find out, and that’s by reading it in the February 2018 issue of Diesel Car & Eco Car.

We’ve also been driving SEAT’s latest Ibiza in 1.6-litre TDI guise. The petrol versions are already on UK roads, with the diesel editions at dealers shortly. Our testers have also been putting the Mercedes-Benz X-Class pick-up and the Skoda Karoq and Volkswagen T-Roc SUVs through their paces on UK tarmac for the first time. Citroën’s new C3 Aircross is aiming to upset the compact SUV segment, and here it faces its biggest French rival, the Renault Captur. Other models on test include an exclusive drive of the facelifted Peugeot 308 in new 1.5-litre BlueHDi 130 guise, as well as the Renault Megane Sport Tourer in sporty GT dCi 165 trim and the Skoda Kodiaq Scout, with its off-road suit on. In Eco Car, we’ve also tested the MINI Countryman Cooper S E ALL4 and Volvo’s V90 R-Design with T8 Twin-Engine plug-in hybrid drivetrain.

We have a preview of the show cars at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas, and have the first photographs of the facelifted MINI Hatch with Union Jack tail lights and the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. There’s spy shots of the next-generation Ford Focus and also the BMW X7. All of this is in addition to the Diesel Car & Eco Car regulars, including Doctor Diesel, The Extra Mile and the most up-to-date data section in the business, as well as extensive coverage of the latest news in the world of diesel and alternative fuels.

diesel, green cars, electric mag

The UK’s leading magazine for diesel, green cars, electric, hybrids and alternative fuelled vehicles, full of advice on tech, mechanics, future plans. great photos inspiring reviews Beoordeeld op 21 augustus 2022

I like the way it has evolved over the years

I have been buying it in print and online since the early 2000s and I like that it always has focused on the economy end of motoring, or us cheapskates if you like. It has moved to covering hybrids and electric cars which is good, and hasn't forgotten its roots - diesels.

It's a friendly, down to early mag and Doctor Diesel is still the best bit.
