Finally the temperatures have nudged up a few degrees and the recent torrential rain is firmly in the rear view mirror, which is quite timely considering the July 2012 issue of Diesel Car is our Summer Special issue. It’s the time of year that we set off for sunnier climes, and we’ve got a handy country-by-country European guide to motoring so that you keep safe and within the law. And because it’s top-down weather, we’ve tested the latest Mercedes-Benz SLK 250 CDI BlueEfficiency and E 350 CDI BlueEfficiency Cabriolet, as well as the Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet GT 2.0 TDI BlueMotion Technology.
We’ve also got the first tests of the brand new Audi A3, the Mazda CX-5 crossover and BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé, as well as the facelifted SEAT Ibiza, the new Chevrolet Cruze 1.7 VCDi and mildly updated Infiniti FX. Completing the first tests are a pair of BMWs – the 116d Efficient Dynamics and 320d EfficientDynamics – as well as the new 87g/km Ford Fiesta ECOnetic. In EcoCar, we also get behind the wheel of the BMW ActiveHybrid 5, the Chevrolet Volt and Lexus CT 200h F Sport – all on UK roads for the first time. Also, Citroën’s bold new DS5 goes up against the stylish new Volkswagen CC, while at the rugged end of the marketplace, the new Ford Ranger locks horns with the updated Toyota Hilux.
One of the hottest topics is examined in depth – Diesel Particulate Filters. Forget the myths, if you want to know the truth, and only but the truth, you really can’t miss our comprehensive guide. There’s also all the regulars that make Diesel Car the only magazine on sale that is dedicated to the world of diesel and alternative fuels, including Doctor Diesel, The Extra Mile and our resident Gadget Inspector.

diesel, green cars, electric mag

The UK’s leading magazine for diesel, green cars, electric, hybrids and alternative fuelled vehicles, full of advice on tech, mechanics, future plans. great photos inspiring reviews Beoordeeld op 21 augustus 2022

I like the way it has evolved over the years

I have been buying it in print and online since the early 2000s and I like that it always has focused on the economy end of motoring, or us cheapskates if you like. It has moved to covering hybrids and electric cars which is good, and hasn't forgotten its roots - diesels.

It's a friendly, down to early mag and Doctor Diesel is still the best bit.
