IT must be getting round to the time when I need to replace the photograph at the top of this page. Fact is that it was taken a fair while ago and is, hmm, I suppose the word is flattering. It kind of came home to me when I was at the big show at Gaydon, waddling around the Kelsey stand, attempting to look all important and knowledgeable, like editors are supposed to. A couple of comments were made – probably not meant for my ears, but detected, nonetheless – to the effect of: “Gawd blimey, ’e don’t look like ’is picture, ’e looks a lot older.” OK, OK, I got the message and the photo will be changed for a more up-to-date image in duke horse. I have posed for a few sessions with the camera, but have so far never managed to look like anything other than a bullfrog wearing spectacles. I’m not too precious about it, but come on, a bloke’s got a certain bit of
street cred to maintain. Anyway, I’m working on it,promise. If you were at the show, ignore my ramblings because you already know what it was like. If you weren’t, well, it was a jolly spiffing do and a report appears this month. While on the subject of this month’s contents (says he,opportunity to prattle on), My Story is a great tale about a Minor. In fact, two Minors. I have taken a bit of stick in the past about featuring too many Moggies, but reckon that they are popular enough to warrant
a fair few mentions. And you may (or may not) wish to know that next month’s issue is a special edition to celebrate 60 years of Minor LCVs – in other words, vans and pick-ups. So, if you’re a Minor fan then don’t miss it. If you’re not a fan, please buy it – oh go on, make an old man happy (and, perhaps, a happy man old). And finally, what are your views on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter? I’d like to know because they are potentially another way for you to
keep in touch with CVP and vice versa. Until the next time (and, who knows, the next mush-pic at the top of this page), tootle-pip, old fruits,
