Jaguar Enthusiast  |  Vol.30 No.4 Two New Model Announcments
Although this is your April issue of the magazine, this is being written (like most of the magazine) in March. Therefore at the time of writing it’s already been a busy time for events and activities. There was the bi-annual International Jaguar Spares Day on 16th March preceded on the Saturday by the first of what we hope will be several special get-togethers for X-type owners. Reports on both these events will thus appear in the May magazine as this issue had to go to press only a few days after those events took place. April is getting underway with a swing. On 12th it is the XF seminar, a new event for the Club and one we hope will be very popular as these cars are becoming so affordable now. On 27th April the next XK8 Forum run will be taking place, this time travelling through the Cheshire countryside. There are still spaces on both these events if you want to come along, so contact the appropriate people (see the adverts elsewhere in this issue) for more details. Please remember, as with many of this type of event, pre-booking is essential.
That last date (27th April) coincides with the now annual Drive it Day
celebrations organised by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC) of which the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club is one of the largest contributors. This is now the one day a year when the Federation hopes that as many classic car owners as possible will get on the road to celebrate our enthusiasm and on-going commitment to the concept.
Although the Federation naturally looks on this annual event to promote classic cars and their use, many clubs like ours also get involved with more modern machinery. Several of our Regions provide their own runs to coincide, giving all Jaguar owners the opportunity to get involved. After all, even if you don’t consider your own Jaguar as a classic, one day they all will be.
