FlyPast Magazine November 2014 Edizione posteriore

English
207 Recensioni   •  English   •   Aviation & Transport (Aviation)
Only €5,99
Don’t miss November’s new FlyPast, a special issue looking back on the biggest warbird event to have taken place in British skies for many years – the tour of the only two airworthy Avro Lancaster bombers in the world. Bringing these aircraft together has been a magnificent undertaking – we reflect on the highlights of this historic union, and describe how the team overcame the adversity of an engine failure midway through. Our coverage features exclusive photographs and interviews with both Canadian Warplane Heritage and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Spotlight: Consolidated B-24 Liberator
Over 22 pages, we chart the rise of the one of the most successful bombers to fly in World War Two. With exclusive colour artwork and rarely seen images, we describe its history and look back on the essential role it played during wartime.

Hurricane’s new colours
The BBMF’s Hawker Hurricane (LF363) is flying again, wearing a smart new Battle of Britain-era paint scheme. Clive Rowley has the full story.

Focke-Wulf to fly
A combat veteran Focke-Wulf Fw 190 is being restored to fly in the US. Nigel Price visits this remarkable project.

High-altitude Starfighter
When the F-104 Starfighter entered service its high performance made it perfect for an attempt on several world records.

Vampires and Venoms
The twin-boom jet debut of the RAF’s 14 Squadron in West Germany is assessed by Michael Napier.

We also bring you breaking news about an extraordinary Spitfire discovery on the island of Orkney, and celebrate the return of DH Sea Vixen ‘Foxy Lady’ to Yeovilton. Darren Harbar visits the atmospheric Great War-era aerodrome at Stow Maries, and we report from a little known aviation museum in Oman. As the UK airshow season draws to a close, we reflect on successful shows at Little Gransden and others.

Digital subscription for Flypast magazine

I have purchased the Flypast magazine for many years and generally as a hard copy. However, for the last couple of years l have subscribed annually to the digital version and now read on my iPad.
The magazine is great and I always find the content interesting and varied and never bored with the topics covered. Whilst previously enjoying the hard copy l am now a devoted digital subscriber and would recommend this version. On the downside you miss out on add ons such as calendars etc.
