GT Porsche  |  September 14
We celebrate 40 years of the Porsche Turbo this month, with a back-to-back comparison with an original 930 and the latest 991 Turbo. Considering there’s 40 years between them Porsche has done a remarkable job in retaining the Turbo’s original and core DNA in the latest car, as we discovered.
But it’s not just the 911 that has enjoyed the benefits of Porsche’s turbo-charging technology this past 40 years and in the September issue we’ve managed to track down and drive one of the rarest Porsche Turbos ever built: the 968 Turbo RS.
We’ve also been on a 1500 mile European road trip in the new 911 Targa, laughed out loud in a 991 Turbo S Cabriolet, enjoyed Porsche’s mid-engined roadsters in the shape of the 914 and 981 Boxster and reflected on the remarkable talents of Pedro Rodriguez.
And it doesn’t stop there, this month’s The Market Place focuses on the 997.2 GT3 RS and our buying guide looks at the Porsche’s you could be driving with a budget of £90-100,000. We also investigate the importance of dampers, take a look at the latest pain protection film and we’ve added a 911 Carrera to our longterm fleet too.
Enjoy the issue!
