IN THIS ISSUE

It’s time for the muppets to go to Mordor in this issue of Tabletop Gaming with the whimsical and charming Land of Eem. It’s also time to deal with some time travel in the wild west with a brand new bluffing tableau builder from Corey Konieczka (Battlestar Galactica). We’re just letting you know, it’s going to get weird.

Also in the issue:

• EXALTED FUNERAL – Our studio profile this month takes in the team that have been digging up a golden age of roleplaying games.
• BRETWALDA – It’s not easy becoming the Anglo-Saxon king, but someone’s got to do it in this beautiful game of area control.
• MOON – From the village, to the streets, to outer space, we close off the trilogy with Haakon Hoel Gaarder.
• THE CRIMSON SCALES – What happens when a Gloomhaven fan project gets out of hand? You end up with a game two-thirds the size of the original. We find out how it happened.
• 27 GAMES REVIEWED – including, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Long Shot: The Dice Game, Monuments, Scout, TUSK!, Meeples & Monsters, Skull Canyon Ski Fest, Apawthecaria, Switch & Signal (…and there are FIVE Must-Play games in this very issue)

PLUS, The award nominations are OPEN: https://mail.tabletopgaming.co.uk/p/73DM-3RM/ttg-awards-nominations Go and nominate your favourite games from this year right here.

And if that wasn’t enough, we’ve got the usual columns including The Soloist (this month about playing any RPG solo), our painting guide (Star Wars Legion: The Shadow Collective), and What’s In A Game (a humorous exploration of why playing chess won’t make you smart) amongst many other.

And we have a special subscription deal this month, take out an annual subscription of Tabletop Gaming and get a Flesh & Blood booster box (24 booster packs). Stocks are limited for this offer, so act fast to secure your free gift.

Bright Reading

Really interesting for all types of games Révision 25 avril 2022

Tabletop Gaming Annual

Tabletop Gaming Annual lot of good tips and ideas. Révision 25 février 2021

Tabletop Gaming

Whilst the best games series are useful, they include a number of games that were rated as average or even poor. Révision 24 octobre 2020

Waste of 6$ - if you're here for painting tips.

Bought this for the Dungeon Depths terrain guide; the site makes it look like it'll be a step by step to really making these pop, but it turns out to be barely 4 pages of 3 or 4 progression images and barely a sentence of guide for each. Not only this, but there's barely a discussion of most of the terrain, getting the OSL shown on the main pic, or really anything else.

Gave it a 3 cuz it'd be unfair to give it a 1 since I only cared about the painting bits.

Fantastic magazine

There are so few good tabletop gaming magazines being published today, which is strange, considering the resurgence in traditional gaming. Aside from the 3 popular miniature war gaming magazines, there's a serious lack of magazine style content for serious board gamers. So it was with much anticipation that I looked forward to the publication of Tabletop Gaming last year, which promised broad coverage of ALL types of tabletop games (board, card, minis games). It has not disappointed. Besides lavish visuals, the magazine offers dozens of quick-hitting game reviews, combined with some in-depth interviews of companies and game designers, and features on hot games. It's a fun read and highly recommended. I've just re-upped my subscription for another year. Keep up the good work guys! Révision 06 juin 2016
