MOVE IT LIKE LOUISE PAVITT
The show jumper on her laid-back approach, the secret to verticals and
a penchant for nuggets and chips. We are quite laid-back and we tend to be like that with my horses. We try not to change them too much, preferring to adapt my riding to the way they like to go. My best horse, Chamberlain Z, works nicely, yet when he jumps he’s far happier if he’s poking his nose out. To a degree, we let him go how he wants. we are sometimes called lazy at home, but all the horses get a general schooling. They need to be able to change leg, of course, but as long as they’re not running off or cutting the corners then we just go with it.
