The Most Wanted Cup has an early leader this week, after Ed Betteridge landed Kingsmead Island Lake’s Roids at 53¾lb. Nashbait’s Max Hendry bagged himself a new PB in the form of the Box Common from St Johns Pool at 46lb 15oz. RH Fisheries has hit a fantastic run of form with both the Monument 2 and Sitch lake records being broken in the same week with fish of 47lb 1oz and 48¾lb respectively. The Avenue has fished well too, with Ellie at 53lb being the largest out of there. Spring is finally here; with so many big fish hitting the banks there has never been a better time to get out there.
Is it best to fish all the time, in the hope you eventually land lucky? Or, is it best to only make the effort when you know conditions are perfect? James Pierce discusses this notion this week, as he has found the latter to be more fruitful. John Kneebone reflects on a recent visit to France that was more like winter than spring, while Thomas Duncan-Dunlop looks back on a hotly contested Mainline carp match. Nash Tackle’s Oli Davies is back, where he recounts a successful trip to the River Moselle in France with Samir and Clair Arebi.
We have five Fox Heat Transfer 3200 stoves worth over £240 up for grabs, plus the usual weekly Mainline Baits winners are announced.
