FlyLife  |  Number 83 - Autumn 2016
This Autumn we hit the road from Fraser Island to Hinchinbrook in search of tropical salty madness. We learn some valuable ‘one percenters’ to help improve catch rates, examine Victoria’s wild trout fisheries management program and herald the revival of some iconic Australian mainland trout waters. Back in warmer climes we tackle tuskfish on the flats, hook gigantic tarpon in Florida and explore remote Top End billabongs for saratoga. Autumn also brings a taste of Mayfly Magic with stunning macro photos and detail on NZ mayflies. Finally we look at the pros and cons of swinging wet flies downstream, visit Lake Otamangakau, and follow the delicate skill in restoring an old fly rod with an accomplished craftsman. The giant Arctic char featured in our overseas Postcard story also have to be seen to be believed.
