The announcement of the second annual Rotax MAX Challenge Asia Festival (RMCAT) has now confirmed that the venue is the Sepang International Kart Circuit (SIKC) in Kuala Lumpur on January 26 to 28, 2024. As was the case last year, following the maiden edition of the RMCAT on the island of Langkawi, this will be the first chance of the new season that competitors can win the coveted RMC Grand Finals 2024 tickets. The drivers crowned the champions in five of the six Rotax classes on the program will represent their own national team at the end of year showdown, at a location still to be announced by BRP-Rotax, Austria.
The complex surrounding the karting facility is famous for being the venue for the Formula One Malaysian Grand Prix until 2017 and hosts the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix, along with many motorsport events. Ideally located south of the Malaysian capital, near the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the 1.247km Sepang International Kart Circuit is anticipated to assist in bringing the competition to yet another level. Race promoter and organizer, Amprex Racing Services, as the Authorized Distributor for Rotax kart engines in Malaysia, Brunei and Vietnam, has selected the top-ranked Malaysian venue for their headline Rotax event to attract more entries to contest the 2024 titles. Last December, the grid included many leading international drivers, with front-runners from the RMC Grand Finals and European championships. “We are delighted to be hosting the RMCAF 2024! We are looking forward to welcoming some of the world’s best drivers to Malaysia to race for 2024 RMCGF tickets and prize money,” commented Mr. Genji Hashimoto, CEO of Amprex Racing Services. “This event will help build the ROTAX brand in Asia and we are looking forward to making even greater strides in 2024 and beyond. Some more news is that we have scheduled the opening round of the sixevent RMC Asia Trophy Series for the new season at Sepang the week before the RMCAF in January. This year, the RMCAT will be a Southeast Asiawide championship.”
