Mark Stoneman has revealed England’s batsmen have been forced to take extreme measures in the nets to prepare for Australia’s pace attack because of the sub-standard opposition they have faced in their final two warm-up games. Stoneman scored the first century by an England batsman on this tour yesterday, the Surrey opener posting 111 against a Cricket Australia XI. This was the thirty year-old’s fourth fifty plus score in as many innings since his arrival in Australia just under three weeks ago.
