STOKES 'STEPPED IN' TO DEFEND GAY MEN
Ben Stokes told a court he “stepped in” to defend the honour of two gay men before becoming involved in an alleged brawl with two revellers. The Durham and England allrounder is one of two men accused of affray following an incident outside a Bristol nightclub on September 25. Stokes, 27, told Bristol Crown Court he intervened after hearing Ryan Hale and Ryan Ali “shouting
homophobic comments” at Kai Barry and William O’Connor outside the Mbargo club in the Clifton Triangle area of the town just after 2am.
