February is a month of getting ready and preparing for the forthcoming season on the plot, and this month's magazine definitely does not shirk its responsibilities, with features on edible hedges, beetroot and chard, growing orchards in even the smallest of spaces, and cultivating lemons in a temperate climate. As for livestock, we cover feeding sheep, preparing your hives for the forthcoming active season, taking your livestock to the abattoir, and we have a poultry Q & A based on recent concerns put to Terry Beebe on matters of health and behaviour. On a broader front we also consider the possibilities of natural capital as a way of funding our environmentally-conscious farmers, we look in depth at Turkey Tail fungus, and check out the regulations affecting log cabins sited on your land.
