Diesel&EcoCar Magazine  |  February 2021
It’s the super-hot Skoda Octavia vRS TDI that adorns the cover of the February 2021 issue of DieselCar and EcoCar, as we grab the keys to the first example that has arrived in the UK. Our test team have also behind the wheel of the facelifted Volkswagen Tiguan, the latest Toyota Hilux pick-up and the recently updated Audi Q5 SUV, too. Over in EcoCar, Vicky Parrott managed to get a drive in an early prototype of the Toyota Mirai, and we’ve been testing the superb new Audi A3 40 TFSI e and the Range Rover Evoque PHEV.
This month’s twin test sees two newcomers to the PHEV world, with the MG HS PHEV facing the Suzuki Across PHEV. Which one is worthy of your hard-earned cash? This month’s used car buyer’s guide is all about one of the cheapest cars on the road, the Suzuki Celerio, while elsewhere in EcoCar, we explain what the term ‘self-charging hybrid’ means. In our news pages, there’s the 2021 European Car of the Year finalists, the full story on Kia’s fresh new logo and first pictures of Bentley’s Bentayga Hybrid. There’s also news on the Audi A3 45 TFSI e S line Competition and Q3 40 TFSI e, the Hyundai Tucson PHEV and classic versions of the original Range Rover, now fitted with an electric drivetrain. Toyota and Subaru’s plans for a jointly developed EV are revealed and news about cutting-edge solid state batteries that will change the future for ever.
There are also your favourites like Doctor Diesel, Legal i, Buying, Selling and Maintaining, Marketplace, and the most up-to-date vehicle statistics anywhere in the motoring world. We’ve also got five brand new columns called Autojumble, Fuel for Thought, Motorgrump, Retrospective and Roadwatch, so if you haven’t seen DieselCar and EcoCar magazine lately, be sure to pick up a copy to test drive for yourself, the latest, facelifted content.
