Would you believe that a worldwide sororal organisation of transwomen has been in existence since 1996? [Sororal - of or like a sister] It’s true! Known as Vanity Club International (Club), I’ve been a member since 2017.
My awareness of the Club occurred with a chance meeting. She was kind, intelligent, accomplished, and OMG gorgeous – a lady’s lady! Inspired, I committed to: (1) improving my female presentation and (2); building trust with members online and in-person. It was a long yet worthwhile selfimprovement period because being accepted by the Club, forever changed my life for the better.
Let me explain. Like many non-binary people, my pre-Club life included periods of confusion and fear. As a Club member, I became connected to a collection of previously unmet ‘best friends.’ Our shared vulnerability was central to form a mutually beneficial alliance and trusted friendships.
