Parramatta Light Rail update
Work continues to ready the 12-kilometre, 16-stop Stage 1 of Parramatta Light Rail for service testing in mid-2023. Although work has been completed in ‘below rail’ infrastructure between Westmead and Carlingford, the November and December period saw the construction shift to the installation of tram stop structures and equipment along the route, with all stations due to be fitted out by January, and early December saw the arrival of the route’s first light railway vehicle, when new CAF Urbos 3 tram 2172 was delivered. Chris Walters reports.
