Patchwork and Quilting  |  May 2017
Plenty of great projects for you this month. Our cover quilt features a Bargello Quilt made with a pre-cut strip pack which saves you the worry of choosing which fabrics to use! The Fantasy Quilt is a lovely big quilt for the little ones, or indeed anyone who loves unicorns and rainbows. The Four Seasons quilt shows a wonderful cherry tree through the seasons while the Give and Take Appliqué quilt combines both appliqué and reverse appliqué. Betty Croke mixes piecing with appliqué in her Boxes and Baubles modern-style wall hanging and we make another foundation pieced block in our Tulips series quilt.
A couple of fantastic quilt show reviews to inspire you this issue. The New Quilting exhibition at the Rheged Centre near Penrith in Cumbria looked stunning and if you are really quick, you can just about make it in time to visit before it closes. While The Quilting Show in Glasgow again showcased the best of quilting in Scotland. We take a look at the story behind The Women’s Quilt and find out about the fabrics in the Pineapple Coverlet. We meet the Sew and Sews of KIlbirnie in Introducing and Greta Fitchett tells us about her First and Last Quilts.
