I always feel incredibly lucky that it’s part of my job to go around the country visiting beautiful homes to shoot for the magazine, and this month was particularly special. I was so inspired by the home of Gigi Eligoloff (this month’s cover girl, see page 16). She has filled her small London home almost entirely from lost and second-hand treasures, yet the result is a relaxed and surprisingly sophisticated style that can’t help but make you smile. She really ticked the HomeStyle box when we discovered she had bought her entire kitchen on Gumtree for £900! Another showstopper this issue is the upcycling feature – turn to page 85 right now for the most stunning cupboard revamp. It’s proof that breathing life back into things other people don’t want can create items that will be treasured for generations to come.
