GT Porsche  |  December 14
You could say the 911 has had just four evolutionary changes in the last 51 years, and that while the switch to the 996 was considered the biggest change of them all, it could be argued that the model changes introduced in 1974 were the most significant of all. For without them, chances are the 911 would have slowly passed out of production and into the history books.
It is why this month we have dedicated the cover story to the 1974 2.7 Coupé, the first face-lifted and heavily revised 911 and unbeknown to any of us at the time, let alone Porsche, gave the rear-engined sports car the platform required to go on to much greater things.
In the December 2014 issue we’ve also a road test of RPM Technik’s 996 CSR, tested the Macan Turbo on and off road – kind of, tell the remarkable story of the 909 Bergspyder and drive a spine-tingling 275hp 911 SC. On top of this we’ve our regular great Porsche content, from advice, to technical tips and the latest news.
