Back On The Rods

Spring has got to be my favourite time of the year. Once the clocks go forward, it really feels like winter is over, and it’s time to get back on the rods. We have had a very mild winter this year, totally different to last year when we had quite a bit of snow in March, and most of my fishing buddies have fished right through.
Looking out of my office window as I write this editorial in mid-April, just prior to the last show of the year at Stoneleigh, spring is truly here… The buds are on the trees, birds are searching for nesting material and carp are on the munch for certain. It’s time to get out there myself next week once the shows are done.

This month’s magazine is designed to get you back on the rods too, with articles I have picked on a variety of venues, many well known, soon to be the choice of many spring campaigns. This month’s cover story is from Danny Holland, his second article in recent times on his angling in the Ringwood area. It’s something different this time, as Danny tackled the ultra-tricky Rockford close up and personal. The long-range tackle was packed away as Danny chose to concentrate on the margins, a method never before adopted by the many anglers who pursue these highly sought after Hampshire carp. Read on now…
