In Drama & Theatre Autumn 1, we explore a variety of new-term inspirations designed to be useful to you whether you’re working with a full complement of students at school or still in some aspects teaching remotely – from a digital or real-life school trip to the V&A, to workshops face to face or in person, with theatre companies including Roustabout and Splendid Productions. Should distance-learning be required again, or even if it’s not, a teacher offers tips on using Google Classroom for setting and marking Drama work; and we have a number of inspiring tales of remote school productions, through podcasts and on Zoom.
Our reviews section contains a bumper crop of streamed performance reviews, as well as books and a host of play texts: we also review an online Q&A with Willy Russell on seminal school text Blood Brothers – which remains available to watch. Meanwhile our lesson plans and strategies, and our six latest schemes of work, are all adaptable for face-to-face or remote teaching and cover a variety of topics, including a practitioner focus on director Marianne Elliott.
