Dancing Times  |  October 2018
W ith the start of a new volume of Dancing Times – our 109th – we have taken the opportunity to rearrange the placement of some of our regular features. So, for example, you will now find that Laura Cappelle’s FRANCE/dance, Igor Stupnikov’s Letter from St Petersburg and Jack Anderson’s Notes from New York come after Dance Scene instead of before. Don’t worry, each of our regular columns and sections are still here, but they might be in a different place – check the Contents page to see where.
This issue looks to the future as well as the past, with articles exploring the new Disney film The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, a new event in the ballroom calendar, Battle of the Ballroom, which is making its debut at the Ipswich Dance Festival, and a tribute to the choreographer Paul Taylor, who sadly died at the end of August.
We also bid farewell this month to Kim Thompson, our subscriptions and office manager, who is leaving the company after 17 years of service to take up a new position with a property services company. Subscriptions will now be managed by Warners Group Publications, who can be contacted by email at subscriptions@warnersgroup.co.uk or by telephone on 01778 392039. We offer Kim our very best wishes for the future, and with the knowledge she will be greatly missed by all at Dancing Times.
