A WHOLE NEW BALL GAME
Exciting plans for a one hundred-balls-a-side competition to revolutionise English cricket in 2020 have been given the thumbs-up by county chiefs. The proposed format for the new eight-team competition, incorporating both men’s and women’s teams, would see each team face fifteen six-ball overs followed by an additional ten deliveries. The proposals have received
overwhelming support from the ECB board, broadcasters and players alike and were presented to chairmen and chief executives of all eighteen first-class counties, and MCC members, at yesterday’s meeting at Lord’s.
