iDrum magazine: Never miss a beat  |  February 2015
Todd Sucherman is our cover star this month – famous for playing with Styx for 18 years and his Methods & Mechanics DVDs, Todd takes the cover to tell us about his main stage performance at the London Drum Show and encouraging other drummers. As a 12-year-old, he received a six-and-a-half page reply to a letter he’d written to his drum hero Steve Smith, and he’s certainly paying it forward.
JP Bouvet's making it happen by himself, booking international clinic tours and building an educational community through his website. Percussionist Femke Krone discusses her new group Beat The Kitchen and the importance of networking in the modern drum industry. Jonathan ‘Ginger’ Hamilton and Dexter Hercules give us a short but sweet insight into their gospel roots. Deen Castronovo tells us about singing and drumming duties with Journey and his new super group, Revolution Saints.
See what's on the test bench and under the spotlight this issue with our review section:
Dixon Cajón Pedal Plus, Headhunters Maple Groove sticks, Roland TD-1K (pictured), Pearl Hybrid Exotic snares and the Meinl Cajón Brush Collection.
Elsewhere: UK session guru Ash Soan takes time out of recording The Voice to hold court over our guest tuition page.
We've also got all our regular tutors covering drumming topics from beginner's tips to expert level exercises… with videos thrown in, of course.
Oh... and LOADS MORE.
