Australian Railway History  |  Feb-15
The February issue of Australian Railway History offers articles from four states, commencing with a fascinating account of around the clock railway activities on Queensland’s one standard gauge line at South Brisbane, Yeerongpilly and Clapham Junction in the late 1970s. It is backed by a great map of the sidings covered in the article and contemporary photos.
Part 2 of Neville Pollard’s ‘125+ Year’s Young’ article details the construction and operation of the Cowra to Monteagle section of the branch line to Cowra and Blayney. Two short articles follow: one by Graeme Castleton recalling his posting to Caulfield Station as a Victorian Railways signalling electrical fitter in 1962; and the other by David Whiteford on the history of WA’s Merredin Shopper and AvonLink passenger services.
