COVID-19 and railways – an update
Virtually all of us have been affected in some way by the COVID-19 situation, and the operations of our railway systems are no exception. David Campbell has compiled an interesting overview of how operators of the various rail services have adapted to the crisis.
Martinus Rail takes two Kiwi Rail locomotives to Queensland
Martinus Rail has the contract to build the narrow-gauge line from Adani’s Carmichael Mine in Queensland, and has purchased two Kiwi Rail DC class locomotives to operate the construction trains. The first of Martinus Rail’s two DCs, 4571, has appeared at Kiwi Rail’s Hutt Workshops in Wellington in its new Martinus Rail livery. DC 4444 is expected to follow. Peter Clark reports.
