Mark served with the British Army in 2008. He suffered life-changing injuries during his military service, and became reliant on using a wheelchair. After extensive treatment and numerous operations, he was medically discharged in 2011. He took part in the 2012 Paralympics and also competed in the Warrior Games. He is now a mentor and trainer with Service Dogs UK. With the help of his service dog, Jerry, he helps to train assistance dogs for veterans who suffer with PTSD. In 2018, he won the Soldiering On award, recognising his commitment and dedication towards helping fellow veterans.
Mark undertook some equine therapy with the RDA and horses became his new passion. Fast forward to October 2022 and he was in the saddle and riding for the first time. He continues to be a real inspiration to others.
