Arthritis Digest  |  2020 Issue 3
If Gemma Mae Anderson – page 9 – didn’t have rheumatoid arthritis, her life would be different. For one thing, she wouldn’t have released a solo album. Likewise, if 14 year
old Annabel Townsend (page 15), was living without juvenile idiopathic arthritis, she wouldn’t have to face that she had been living in a shadow of pain. How many 14 year olds can articulate that “arthritis is now a part of me but not the whole of me”?
Life throws us into all kinds of situations that we are entirely unprepared for. How we rise to challenges, accept, work with and learn from them is perhaps what we can take from the amazing young women we meet in this issue of Arthritis Digest. And how very relevant, when our lives today are turned upside down by coronavirus. We would love to hear from readers on this.
