Military Vehicles Archive  |  British utility Vehicles
Issue number 12 in the Military Trucks Archive series tackles the fascinating subject of British utility vehicles, starting with the delightful 'Tillies' that were produced by Austin, Hillman, Morris and Standard throughout the war years, and going on to cover similar machines produced by Humber, Ford, American Bantam, Ford and Willys. Post-war utility vehicles include the ubiquitous Land Rover in Series I, II, IIA, III and Defender form, as well as the lightweight, the 101 FC, and the Wolf Defender. And we haven't forgotten other post-war machines which would include the 'combat' rated Austin Champ, the Gypsy, and the Auto Technik Pinzgauer. The final pages are devoted to a range of utility vehicles that didn't manage to make quite such an impression, including the Austin Countryman, the Austin Ant, the Mini Moke, theCitroen 2CV pick-up, the Morris Minor, the Standard Ensign, and the Volvo Laplander.
