iDrum magazine: Never miss a beat March 2015 Back Issue

English
2 Reviews   •  English   •   Music (Practical & Playing)
Welcome to our March issue! We’re back from NAMM and have recovered enough from the jetlag to bring you a special on all the latest gear from the show, plus a report on the annual Bonzo Bash, LA’s finest drum tribute to John Bonham.

Sticking with the rock god theme, we have Ray Luzier on the cover – he recently played at Wembley’s SSE Arena with Korn on the Prepare For Hell tour alongside Slipknot, so we jumped at the chance to catch up with him.
Enter Shikari’s sticksman, Rob Rolfe, is also featured, and he’s talking us through his sampling methods and ways with electronics, then Michèle Drees connects the dots between drumming and tap dance with her Jazz Tap Project. Eric Harland is back with an update on his performance at the London Drum Show and his latest album, and we’re delighted to interview Jamiel Blake, who is charming stadiums full of fans around the world with his sweet playing for Sam Smith.

Want to improve your groove ideas? Well Jost Nickel takes up the role of guest tutor – and if you like what he’s teaching, check out our competition, where we are giving away a signed copy of his new book. We also welcome Sebastiaan de Krom, best known for playing with Jamie Cullum, who joins our regular tuition team to bring you his extraordinary jazz knowledge. We’re really excited about our new feature Beat On The Street – we’ve got so many great drum retailers in the UK and in each issue we will be shining the spotlight on some of them.

As usual, there’s plenty more, including news, reviews, tuition and everything you need to get your drum fix. Enjoy.
