Stationary Engine  |  No.491 Crossley 2nhp
Dennis Barnes,
co-organiser of the
Beaulieu Stationary
Engine Gathering
has emailed to say that for 2015
(July 4-5) they plan to showcase
Richard Hornsby and Ruston &
Hornsby engines built prior to
1930. One of the reasons for this
choice is, in some small way,
to recognise and pay a special
tribute to Ray Hooley for all his
dedicated work over the years to
help the preservation movement
with dating engines, supplying
instruction and parts books,
helpful advice etc.
The organisers would also
like to invite owners of pre 1930
‘manufactured lighting sets’ to join
them. There were three such sets
at the 2014 event, which created a
special atmosphere, especially at the
Saturday evening get-together, so
why not join them and make this an
outstanding display.
