Retro Cars Magazine No.79 Rally Design Back Issue

We’ve been won over by an ‘eighties Ford this month. We’ve all gone a bit Sierra mental
as we now own a tidy 4x4. We’re doing the Euro Rally this August (www.eurorallytours.co.uk) and this motor is going to be our mule. It’s an awesome 2000-mile adventure
through some of the most beautiful areas of Western Europe. There are plenty of fast
alpine roads and even a stop off at the Nurburgring so we wanted to make sure that
we were taking part in something that wouldn’t disgrace itself. As lead sponsors it’s an event that we’re
very proud to be a part of and you’ll be hearing an awful lot more about it in the magazine and online as
the year continues. You need to come and join us too! We’ve got some places left but you need to hurry
and pay your deposit soon to avoid disappointment.
In this, the first issue of 2015, we have the usual variety of cool old cars that we know you all pick up
this magazine to see. Where else could you read about a rally-prepared Mk1 Escort alongside a tuned
Lada! If you’re new to Retro Cars, then this is par for the course and you should really grab a subscription
(see page 84) to make sure you don’t miss any of the fun.
If unusual Japanese cars are your thing then our Logbook article this month has to be your bag. It’s a
Honda Civic… nothing unusual about that you would think well there’s an awful lot about this one that
sets it apart. For a start it’s fitted with an Integra engine and it’s had an entirely custom suspension setup
installed, not to mention a Mugen exhaust and Rota rims (see page 6).
We like to cover all niches here at RC and interest in Eastern European models (no not that kind!) is
about as niche as it gets.
