Mosquito airborne special issue!
FlyPast, the UK’s best selling aviation monthly, celebrates the Mosquito’s return to the air with exclusive material within the bumper 116-page December issue. The cover of this month’s magazine features one of the first air-to-air photographs taken of the recently-restored example in New Zealand, and also has the full story of the Mossie’s rebuild, plus a pullout centrefold features the aircraft in flight.
The December issue also recounts how the Mosquito became a legend in World War Two, by telling the story of the type’s first ‘kill’ during the war.
We also focus on another important de Havilland type – the Vampire – in our tribute to the much-missed RAF Central Flying School ‘Vintage Pair’ display team.
Our From the Workshop restoration feature this month looks at an 83-year-old de Havilland Moth, which has been reborn in Queensland, Australia.
We also profile the Shuttleworth Collection’s Blackburn Monoplane, which is still flying at 100 years old. Ken Ellis looks back at its exceptionally long history.
The Spotlight section this month shines on a true ‘do-it-all’ from World War Two – the Hudson. The type and its crews served in just about every role and theatre in the war, and proved to be remarkably successful – we look at its combat career in detail.
And there’s more! Thousands of people have experienced the joy of flying alongside an iconic Spitfire fighter with Action Stations! Malcolm Triggs samples a sortie.
Last but not least, if you like airshows, then you’ll no doubt enjoy our coverage from recent memorable events at Shoreham, Jersey and Cosby.
