Coast is Britain’s No.1 lifestyle magazine for those who have a particular fondness for the many varying aspects of the British coastline, both natural and man-made. As a magazine it covers coastal property, holidays, activities, such as: fishing, sailing, cycling, diving and walks, plus travel, recipes, products and interior ideas, garden and fashion. Coast appeals to the British love of the sea and gives readers a renewed appreciation of what is means to be an island nation. Stunning photography and quality editorial ensures you the trip of a lifetime.
75 years on we re-live the reporting of the run up to and the development of WW2 from the pages of the original weekly ‘The Aeroplane’. Made available digitally and re-issued each week.
The Company Profile series endeavours to cover all major British and American aircraft manufacturers from its formation to its demise (where appropriate) drawing photographic material from the Aeroplane/Kelsey photographic archive and the editor and author Martyn Chorlton. To a lesser extent (depending on the availability of material) other nation’s manufacturers will also be covered such as Germany, Italy and France. Each ‘Bookazine’ will be a 132 pages and entry will include a 400 to 500 word history made up of Development, History, Operational Service and Production. There will be a technical data panel, dissected into dimensions, weights and performance for each aircraft and a mini timeline as well. At the back will be four to six page section called ‘The Drawing Board’ or a designation/type listing as well. The former will cover projects that were only made on paper or just reached the mock-up or part-built stage.
This book takes you back into another world, to the days when lorries were much smaller, often had lots of curves and, in many cases, a big chrome radiator grille. They were almost without doubt built in Britain, which had dozens of manufacturers, sporting names which just conjured up heavy engineering and solidity: Scammell, Seddon, Foden, and even Vulcan. We will look at everything, from restorations to family histories and go back through photographs to many past times. Looking at lorries which delivered goods once known to everyone (remember Benson’s Toffees and Mother’s Pride bread) and many other matters to jog your memory. Have a great read, marvel at the skills of vehicles and most importantly, drink deeper from this overflowing cup of nostalgia!
Providing exclusive behind-the-scenes content from the show - now in its 36th year and a broadcasting phenomenon that has become a part of British cultural life - the magazine will also explore the colourful, often surprising stories behind the people and the objects seen on screen. With trusted advice from the Roadshow experts, it will provide top hints on antique and collectable hunting; stylish tips on how such pieces can enhance your home; and valued guidance on ways to keep those objects in top shape.
