Dollhouse Miniatures  |  Issue 98
The ‘dopamine decor’ trend that took hold last year spread across social media and the world. It even found its way into fashion as ‘dopamine dressing’. How we decorate our houses has a very strong effect on us. The environment that surrounds you can impact your blood pressure, anxiety levels and your general mood. When dopamine is released on areas of the brain it gives feelings of pleasure, satisfaction and motivation. As miniaturists, we are very blessed to be able to decorate not only our full size house, but also our smaller ones!
Personally this was very evident for me after living in my boyfriend’s home for a year. Now that we’re in our new home, seeing all my items again fills me with ease and happiness! The best part has been slowly filling up all my dollhouses with lots of cherished minis!
This particular issue of DHM has some great examples of beautifully decorated dollhouses and scenes. I have learned over the years, while decorating a dollhouse, to always be sure each item I add makes me smile. This way I am sure to have a little house full of happiness! I hope decorating your miniature world gives you much joy!
